How to book corporate gigs:
1. Associations
2. Hotel Crashing
3. Networking

So how do corporations hire entertainment?
1. They've seen you perform personally
2. A friend or colleague recommended you
3. They've seen you in the media (television, newspaper, radio)
4. An agency or event planner recommended you
5. You sent them your promotional material

Getting Testimonials

Record your clients giving you high praise. What they say about you is 100 times more effective than what you say. If you want to get paid to perform then you need to get video testimonials of people you have already performed for.

It is best to get the testimonial right after you performed so they still have the emotional drive in them while speaking on camera. Do not just have everyone rave about how great you are, tell people to describe what they felt before hiring you versus what they feel now.

If people describe the before and after then they will overcome objections in the minds of your buyers which makes things more effective for you.

Inevitability Thinking

Eben Pagen (aka David DeAngelo) has a concept known as Inevitability Thinking. This concept states: you need to set up the proper conditions to make your goals inevitable.

Most people start with a goal and try to figure out how to get there. But if you knew how to get there then you would already be there. What you need to do is set up the conditions that force you to move in one direction so your goal becomes inevitable.

Pricing

Your pricing reflects your image as an entertainer. People equate high price with high quality and vice versa.

To determine your prices you need to:
1) know the average price in your target market
2) decide on what type of image you want to project
3) charge on value, not hourly
4) worst advice EVER given

Target Marketing

If you're serious about getting paid to perform then you have to:

1) Define your target market
2) Determine the people you WON'T perform for
3) Find out how your buyers buy
First you have to determine what type of market you want to perform for.

After you have done this, you want to create a velvet rope policy by deciding who you won't perform for. If you accept any gig that comes your way then you will never develop the psychology of a successful entertainer.

And finally, you want to know how your buyers (the people that hire you) buy. Each target market buys entertainment differently. If you know your market then you need to know how they hire entertainers in that market.
